Who We Are
I have wanted to be a photographer since I was three years old, when I watched my first Spider-Man cartoon. I received my first camera as a Christmas gift from my mother when I was fourteen and I have been taking photos ever since. I have been a professional photographer for almost two decades.
So, why animal portraits? Well, the obvious answer is that I love animals. I am that person who talks to their animals all the time as if they are human. My dog, Sabine, is a gorgeous long-haired German Shepherd and I loved photographing her, but I was never satisfied with the results. Then it hit me: I already talk to her like she is a human, so why not photograph her like one? Finally, I had the results I wanted. From there, I started volunteering at the Kokomo Humane Society, photographing adoptable dogs to give them some nice adoption photos. And, that led to a business photographing pets.
Notice, I did not say it led to a “job”. That would imply work. I am having too much fun to think of this as work.
